About Riva

I am Riva Dill-Garlow, PhD, and I started Dragon Breath Yoga as a means to support friends and family through some very challenging and anxiety provoking times, and it has slowly expanded to so much more. I had no idea how my many diverse interests in mindfulness, spirituality, and science would one day blend into a wonderful support tool for myself and others that I serve in the classes I offer. The work I accomplished to attain my PhD provided me with a vast groundwork in physiology to better understand how to support optimal function of our bodies and my subsequent deep dive into mindfulness and spirituality provided much needed contrast to my scientific mindset. Through getting certification as a yoga and breathwork instructor I gained some significant missing pieces to the wellness image I have been developing. Today, I continue to seek knowledge to more optimally support the human body and explore new modalities liked sound and energy healing to fine tune and adjust my classes to best support people of all backgrounds to find a way to feel better in their mind, body, and spirit.
